Building Confidence, Creativity, and Community

Located in the heart of Exeter and serving the surrounding communities, Adagio Dance Academy is more than just a studio—it’s a family. With a team of dedicated instructors who emphasize confidence, self-worth, and joy, each class is designed to bring out the best in every dancer. Adagio’s philosophy is simple: dance should be fun, inclusive, and inspiring for all.

Programs for Every Age and Level

Combination Classes

Tiny Dancers (Ages 2–3): Mommy & Me
Perfect for the littlest movers, this 30-minute class invites toddlers and parents to dance together! Through rhythm, music, and playful movement, children learn age-appropriate concepts such as walking, hopping, jumping, and social interaction—all while having fun and bonding with their caregiver.

Tiny Dancers (Ages 3–5): Twirl & Tap and Twirl & Tumble
These 45-minute classes introduce young children to the magic of dance through creative movement, music, and games. Students learn to listen, follow directions, and interact with their peers, all while building confidence and coordination. The highlight of the year? Performing on stage in Adagio’s annual dance recital—a dream come true for every Tiny Dancer!

Petite Dancers (Ages 5–7): Combination Classes
For kindergarten and first-grade students, these classes combine foundational styles such as Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Acro, Hip Hop, and Musical Theatre. Dancers are introduced to more advanced concepts while still enjoying creative movement and freestyle games. The focus remains on fun and fostering a lifelong love of dance.

Recreational Classes (Ages 8–18)

As dancers grow, they can choose to focus on specific styles such as Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, and Acro. Recreational classes are ideal for beginner through intermediate-level students who want to learn technique and express themselves without the pressure of competition. Adagio believes that every dancer’s journey is unique—some may train intensively, while others dance purely for the love of it—and both paths are celebrated here.

Adult Classes

At Adagio, dance truly is for all ages. The studio’s growing adult program offers classes in ballet and two levels of tap. Whether you’re a beginner or returning to the studio after years away, these classes are a great way to move, connect, and have fun in a supportive, judgment-free space.

Competitive Dance Companies (Ages 6–18)

For dancers with a passion for performing, Adagio’s Dance Company Program offers the opportunity to compete and grow at an advanced level. Company members, ranging from age 6 to 18, train in multiple styles and perform at three regional competitions each year, along with the annual recital. Placement in Dance Companies is by instructor invitation, ensuring that each dancer is appropriately challenged and supported. With a more rigorous schedule and focused training, this program is perfect for dancers ready to take their skills to the next level.
